Why Opt for a One-Stop Solution when it comes to your restaurant interior design and branding?

Embarking on a restaurant venture in Dubai or beyond? Your first step often involves searching for a restaurant interior design company. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the myriad of links and ads. This article aims to simplify how to start conceptualizing your restaurant’s design and brand.

Creating your restaurant’s brand and interior isn’t just a strategy; it’s an exciting journey. Many initially realise the need for a professional restaurant interior design company.

At FINCH, we frequently meet clients with a restaurant or café idea, seeking our expertise in branding and design. Often, their concepts are still forming, filled with potential but lacking clarity.

A Strategic Approach to Interior Design and Branding

Before partnering with a restaurant interior design company,” ensure your concept is clear:

  1. Concept Clarity

Is your idea well-defined? A concise concept is crucial. For instance, a client wanted a specialty coffee café but also considered offering juices, pastries, and more. This dilutes the specialty focus. A more focused concept could be:

“We aim to open a modern specialty coffee café in Dubai, known for interactive experiences and the finest home-roasted coffee.” This clarity allows for creative freedom and a strong foundation for your operations and marketing.

“We want open a modern specialty coffee café that becomes known for being a place that’s experiential and interactive for the consumer and focuses on serving the finest home-roasted coffee in Dubai.”

Here, designers like us can pull the words “modern, interactive, experiential, and focused” The brief has gone from being convoluted to being more concise and still allowing us a lot of creative freedom. In addition from the client’s standpoint, they now have a strong mission statement. One that they can come back to when it comes to building out their operations and marketing going forward.

Knowing Your Audience:

It’s wild how many people don’t think about this. Designing for niche customers is very different to designing for a broad demographic. When it comes to an interior design and branding brief

Who are your customers?

Let’s go back to our specialty coffee café interior design client again. If that client was aiming their concept at mid to high-net-worth coffee aficionados with an appreciation for modern art and daft punk. It’s a more discernable pointer than someone saying: “Ages 20-50, Arabic, men and women from all socio-economic positions”.

This broad-stroke approach won’t allow you to create a strong considerate and targeted brand. Your customers should become your community and in turn, your tribe. With that in mind you need to have them at the forefront of your preplanning stage.

Pivoting later to a broader range is a lot easier, what I would call a forward pivot. But a reverse pivot is nigh on impossible without taking a huge hit on your credibility as a brand.

Project Benchmarking

Stop Pinterest boarding. It’s great for an overall inspiration direction, but picking individual elements you like in a restaurant interior design is not going to help a restaurant interior designer.

A mid-century light feature, an Andy Warhol piece, with coastal furnishings and an art deco door frame is not a design direction or a brief.

Instead, go broad spectrum. Benchmark projects and brands from around the world. Focus on what’s out there in the world and see where your vision sits. This will allow you to get involved in exploring your niche.

You will get a lot more inspiration from this as well as with points one and two coming to the fore, you will be a lot more locked in when it comes to your overall brand look and feel.

I hope you found this useful and as always if you’re looking for a restaurant interior design company in Dubai or further abroad, we would love to hear from you.

We will be developing this a lot further in the future, but these three steps are a great starting point for you to refine your concept, before searching “restaurant interior design company” on the interwebs.

Of course if you come on board as a client, we will always help with this stuff, but it’s so much cooler for you to have a clear idea and vision of what you want to achieve. As our job is to make your design dreams come to life, with a little sprinkling of FINCH magic.
