The Hutch

The Hutch, Dubai UAE. The Hutch was based in The Mall in Dubai. The concept was to create a bistro interior design based around the chicken and the egg. The chicken in terms of the main dinner/lunch menu. The egg in terms of pastry and desserts. Although not a traditional bistro interior design, it’s one we had a lot of fun with. Taking the chicken as inspiration we decided to go all out and to get super creative.

Examples of this are using the chicken coups / cages as light features. We adorned the top of the columns with a feather tile to represent the legs of the chicken. In addition to this we created nests as light fixtures with eggs as the bulbs. The main pastry section was designed to be a chicken coop. And we also used a cattle iron shaped as chicken feet and burned the feet effect into the tables and flooring, creating the illusion that chickens have been running amok. It’s a really quirky and fun design from the team and a great example of a modern bistro project.
